Housekeeper Finds Gun In Red Roof Inn Room: Police

The man came back to retrieve the gun but left after a Red Roof staff member told him that a police officer was on their way.

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police say they responded to the Red Roof Inn just before 11 a.m. on Feb. 3 on a report that a housekeeper found a gun in one of the hotel rooms.

According to police reports, a prior customer came into the hotel lobby and told staff that he left a ring in one of the rooms.

Reports stated that a housekeeper checked the room and found a 9mm semiautomatic handgun located in the room's nightstand.

According to reports, the man came back to retrieve the gun but left after a Red Roof staff member told him that a police officer was on their way.

Police arrived, and took the gun, and placed it into the department's property archive. According to reports, Oak Creek police are recommending charges of possession of a firearm by a felon.
