Intoxicated Woman Tried Outrunning Officers: Police

She was arrested for operating while intoxicated, operating after her license was suspended and fleeing an officer.

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police responded to the AT&T store just before 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 15 on a report of an OWI complaint.

According to police reports, a 911 caller informed police that there was a woman passed out behind the wheel in the parking lot. Moments later, the 911 caller said the driver of the vehicle woke up and was on the move.

Reports state that officers spotted the suspicious vehicle heading west into Franklin near 60th and Ryan Road. The responding officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however, the woman continued west on Ryan Road according to reports.

Reports indicate that the Franklin Fire Department tried deploying stop sticks at Loomis Road and Highway 100 to deflate her tires, but were unsuccessful in the attempt.

According to police, she stopped at a nearby apartment complex where she was taken into custody. According to reports, she was arrested after she registered a 0.12 blood alcohol concentration on a preliminary breath test.
