Latest Oak Creek Middle School Threat Involved Rap Lyrics: Report

The child was told by police that these types of statements and threats would not be tolerated and was taken into custody.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek are reporting that they responded to Oak Creek East Middle School just after noon on March 9 to investigate a Snapchat post made by a student that appeared to be a threat.

According to police reports, a teacher had a screenshot from a smartphone, showing a Snapchat message that indicated that he was going to "mess" things up at school. The message read, in part, "Bet we finna 'mess' da school up wit dem 38s u hear me."

Police investigated the case and learned that the child that sent the message hadn't been in school since last year. An officer tried to contact the child's home but received no answer.

Later that day, another message was sent - but this time it was in reference to the song "38 Baby" by NBA Young Boy.

The officer watched the music video which had firearms present in the video - but made no mention of a school.

Police located the message-sender later that day, and he admitted to sending the message - only that it was related to the song and nothing else.

The child was told by police that these types of statements and threats would not be tolerated and was taken into custody for municipal disorderly conduct. He was later booked and released to his mother.
