Local Bus Driver Helps Stop Car with 5-Year-Old Behind the Wheel

"She was panicking and screaming when I took her out," the bus driver said.

A local bus driver helped stop a vehicle in St. Francis with a 5-year-old girl behind the wheel on Friday, WISN reported.

Ramon Barrios, a bus driver for the Milwaukee County Transit System for less than a year, tried to stop the car from rolling into a busy street after he “saw the little head and saw it was a child and no adults in the car,” he said.

Barrios stopped the bus he was operating and ran to the little girl’s aid as his passengers looked on.

"She was panicking and screaming when I took her out,” he said.

Authorities said the child, who was waiting for her parents in her father’s running car, had accidentally moved the stick shift. After determining that it was an accident, police said the parents will not face any neglect charges.
