Oak Creek Restaraunt Hopes To Help Employees With Car Payments
The owner of a few local Jersey Mike's franchises, including the one in Oak Creek, wants to help his employees buy cars.
OAK CREEK, WI — The owner of the Jersey Mike's sandwich shop franchise in Oak Creek is hoping to help out his employees with car payments.
Owner Tim Downing posted on an Oak Creek Facebook community page Thursday asking for leads to reliable, used cars. The vehicles would be for his employees, something to help them get to and from work, Downing said in the post. Downing did not immediately reply to Patch's request for comment.
It's not the first time Downing has done something extra for his employees. He told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that in the past he's given employees Uber gift cards and has even helped to house one employee in a hotel when they had nowhere else to live.

"My No. 1 priority is to take care of my employees and make sure they have the tools and resources to not only be successful in my business, but also in the real world," Downing told the Journal Sentinel.
Downing said his franchises have dodged many of the same problems other businesses are facing in recent months when it comes to staffing, he told the Journal Sentinel, owing it to the ways he helps employees.
