Man Accused of Killing Mother Felt 'Intense Disrespect': Police
Kervin Pierce intended to shoot his brother, but the gun jammed. His plan had been to shoot them both then call police, investigators said.

OAK CREEK, WI — Authorities say 25-year-old Kervin Pierce has been charged for the shooting death of his mother and the severe beating of his brother early Tuesday, Dec. 19 in Oak Creek.
According to court records, Kervin Pierce now faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, strangulation and suffocation and battery by prisoners. If convicted, he faces life in prison.
According to a criminal complaint filed Friday in Milwaukee County, Pierce told investigators he felt "intense disrespect and was overwhelmed" the day of the shooting and beating. Pierce also told investigators that he felt disrespected by them for two or three months and was upset.

On the day of the incident, Oak Creek police responded to the Timber Ridge Apartments, 1825 Timber Ridge Lane just before 4 a.m. on a report of a domestic disturbance. Police said they found 48-year-old Bonita Pierce, shot, stabbed and beaten to death in the apartment. Her other son, and Kervin's brother, Kertwon Pierce, was found unconscious at the scene. Kertwon Pierce was transported to Froedtert with severe injuries to his head and face.
The complaint stated that Pierce intended to shoot his brother, however the gun jammed. His plan had been to shoot his mother, and brother, and then call police.

Police reported that Pierce himself made the 911 call to authorities that day, stating "there was a female inside of the residence that had been shot to the face and an unconscious male that had been pistol whipped."
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's office, when Kervin Pierce was in jail, he attacked a correctional officer on Dec. 20. Reports indicated that Pierce threw the correctional officer to the ground and continued to choke them until three other inmates came to the aide of the correctional officer. The three inmates subdued Pierce until other correctional officers arrived on scene. The attack lasted approximately 15 seconds.
