Man Arrested After Shooting Sleeping 12-Year-Old In Foot: Report
When a woman checked the sleeping 12-year-old, she rubbed her foot and realized that her hand was covered in blood.

MILWAUKEE, WI -- A Franklin man has been arrested and charged after police say he's the person responsible for shooting a 12-year-old Milwaukee boy in the foot.
Authorities say Michael M. Montey, 19, of Franklin, has been charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety and bail jumping in connection with the Dec. 4 incident.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County, an apartment resident in the 2400 block of W. National Ave. woke up at about 1 a.m. on Dec. 4 when she heard a loud noise. When she checked the 12-year-old, she rubbed her foot and realized that her hand was covered in blood.

When she brought the 12-year-old to the bathroom, she realized he had been shot in the foot. She took him to the hospital for treatment, police said.
According to the criminal complaint, Montey had been in the apartment upstairs, and fired one gun shot down through the floor that night. After the shot, reports indicated that an adult in Montey's apartment heard the shot, and drove Montey home to Franklin shortly afterward.

When police arrived at the scene, Montey's friend told investigators that Montey was the one who fired the weapon. On Dec. 6, investigators located Montey at his Franklin apartment where he was arrested.
According to court documents, Montey had been out on bail for felony marijuana possession with intent to deliver. If convicted in the Dec. 4 incident, Montey could face up to seven-and-a-half years behind bars or a $25,000 fine, or both.
