Man Arrested For Domestic Violence, Woman Also Arrested: Police

Oak Creek police responded to an apartment complex on the 9000 block of S. 5th Ave. just after 4 p.m. on May 5. Here's what happened:

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police responded to an apartment complex on the 9000 block of S. 5th Ave. just after 4 p.m. on May 5 on a report of domestic violence.

According to police reports, a 911 caller told authorities that she had just been attacked and strangled by her boyfriend, who she said had been drinking.

Reports stated that the responding officer determined that a man, later identified as Steven J. Huwig of Oak Creek, choked his girlfriend and threw her to the ground.

The officer arrested Huwig on suspicion of domestic violence - battery and strangulation. Reports further indicated that the girlfriend had an open arrest warrant with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office for family contempt. She was also taken into custody.
