Man Arrested For OWI After Getting Stuck In Ditch: Police

Police reports indicated that an officer made contact with the driver, who stated that he had "a lot of vodka."

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police were dispatched to the intersection at S. 13th St. and W. Oakwood Rd. on Feb. 10 on a report of a drunk driver.

According to police reports, a man driving a gray sedan ended up getting stuck in a ditch near the intersection. When police arrived, officers confirmed that the man was stuck in the 10200 block of S. 13th Street and was facing north.

Police reports indicated that an officer made contact with the driver, who stated that he had "a lot of vodka." The officer reported seeing that the man had slurred speech, red glassy eyes and a moderate odor of intoxicants coming from his breath.

Reports state that the man was transported to the Oak Creek Police Department for field sobriety tests, and subsequently failed those tests. He submitted to a chemical breath test, which reported a 0.20 blood alcohol concentration - more than double Wisconsin's legal limit for operating while intoxicated. He was cited for OWI-1st and failure to maintain control of his vehicle.

According to reports, the man's mother picked him up from the police station and his vehicle was towed by B&B Towing.
