Man Bilked Animal Hospital Out Of Thousands of Dollars: Report
Authorities say a man paid himself cash by giving out phony "credits" to former customers - including a dead person.

OAK CREEK, WI -- A Milwaukee man is accused of bilking the Brentwood Animal Hospital out of thousands of dollars, according to Milwaukee County authorities.
Sean Cronin, 45, Milwaukee, has been charged with one charge of felony theft, and could face up to three-and-a-half years of imprisonment if he is convicted.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County, an employee of the Brentwood Animal Hospital first noticed a number of unusual transactions in August. When the employee dove further into the matter, they found that the animal hospital's books were short, and that a number of "credits" had been paid out to customers that were unaccounted for.

Investigators were able to determine that Sean Cronin, a Brentwood Animal Hospital employee of about seven years, had made dozens of fraudulent transactions over a three-month period, the criminal complaint stated.
Authorities said that Cronin would pay out a cash "credit" to a customer. Investigators said Cronin's "customers" were actually former customers. One such customer was deceased.

According to the criminal complaint, the only employee who was on the premises every day that each of the 28 fraudulent transactions occurred was Cronin. When he was on vacation in June 2018, no fraudulent transactions occurred the complaint stated.
Investigators say Cronin was responsible for taking $2,410 in August, $915 in June and $3,483 in July.
