Man Hides $8,500 In Electronics Under Stuffed Animal: Police

Oak Creek Police are searching for a retail theft suspect who used a stuffed animal to hide electronics while at the Oak Creek Meijer.

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police are searching for a retail theft subject accused of stealing a total of $17,500 in stolen merchandise from area stores after the suspect struck the Oak Creek Meijer on Saturday.

According to police reports, on Nov. 30, a man entered Meijer just before 10 a.m. wearing a gray hat, black sweatshirt, a construction vest and tan pants. Surveillance footage obtained by police showed that the man concealed about $8,500 worth of electronics in his cart, and covered the electronics with an oversized stuffed animal.

Reports indicated that the suspect used a bolt cutter to cut the lock off at the store's garden center to place items on a flatbed cart. He loaded the electronics into his vehicle and left in a maroon Honda or Kia sedan.
