Man Threatened To Shoot Police, Mother: Cudahy Police

Wednesday's incident on Packard Avenue started with someone telling police her son was threatening to shoot her, according to Cudahy Police.

CUDAHY, WI — Cudahy Police Department said the closures on Packard Avenue Wednesday afternoon started with a call to police around 12 p.m. The woman who called 911 said her son was threatening to shoot her, police and himself.

The parent of the 33-year-old man said she saw him with a gun at the house within the past week. She told police her son suffers from several mental health disorders that he does not take medications for and at the time of the call the man was highly intoxicated, according to a news release from Cudahy Police.

Within the hours that followed, several blocks of Packard Avenue nearby the home were barricaded by police and a heavy police presence with tactical gear could be seen, reports showed.

Police spoke to the suspect over the phone. According to police, the man said he had a handgun and a rifle and he was threatening to shoot police. As the investigation continued, police realized the suspect had already left the home before their arrival, the news release said.

Around 4 p.m., a St. Francis Police Officer saw the suspect's vehicle. Agencies were called to the 3400 block of Plankinton in Cudahy where they then stopped the car. The 33-year-old man was arrested without incident, police said.
