Man Who Claimed Pot Smokers At Bender Fakes Punch in Stomach: Police

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police responded to Bender Park just before 11 p.m. on the evening of Sep. 17 on a report of multiple people smoking marijuana in the lower parking lot.

Police responded to the park that evening, found the group of people that were reported to be smoking via the Crime Stopper hotline, and issued citations to several people for marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reports stated that K9 officer Nox sniffed the exterior of a row of vehicles parked on the northwest side of the park and indicated the presence of narcotics in three vehicles. All three vehicles contained marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a subsequent search.

According to reports, a verbal argument ensued between members of the group and the apparent person who contacted authorities.

All parties denied that a physical confrontation took place, and a person who claimed to have been punched in the stomach was evaluated at the hospital, ended up not having any observable physical marks to the apparent injury area, according to police.

Police warned all parties involved about falsifying a police report, and no arrests for disorderly conduct were made.
