Man's 'Risque' Video To Wife Involved in Blackmail Plot

An Oak Creek man who reportedly sent a "risque" video of himself to his wife was part of a blackmail plot by a suspect in Africa.

OAK CREEK, WI — An Oak Creek man who reportedly sent a "risque" video of himself to his wife was part of a blackmail plot by a suspect in Africa.

Oak creek police responded to the Oak Park apartments on the morning of Sep. 26 on a report of a civil matter.

According to police reports, an unknown person was trying to extort money from an Oak Creek man over a video they have of him. When an investigating officer spoke with the man, he told police that he had sent a risque video to his wife on Sep. 24, only to learn that an unknown person on Facebook said they also had a copy of it.

The suspect reportedly demanded $5,000 or the video would be shared with his friends. The man, expecting the worst, informed his friends of the threat in the event the video would be sent, according to police reports.

Reports indicated that the man could only afford $100, and was given instructions to send the funds via Western Union to Dechy Flora in Mali, Africa.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and report that the man has yet to lose any money in the extortion plot, nor has the video been broadcast to a new audience.
