Frank Carini, a Private Wealth Advisor with BMO Private Bank and current Oak Creek-Franklin School Board President is seeking re-election. Carini told Patch that school safety and the district's budget are the two issues area residents are concerned about.
Carini said he wants to continue his work on the board to address a number of key issues facing the district: "I want to continue serving our students and moving forward with several initiatives we’ve started in the past few years including analyzing and improving special education, school curriculum, facilities, compensation, school safety, and communications," he said.

Why I'm running for office:
I am running for re-election because I believe strong schools equal strong communities. I want to continue serving our students and moving forward with several initiatives we’ve started in the past few years including analyzing and improving special education, school curriculum, facilities, compensation, school safety, and communications.
Top issues as I see them:
When listening to parents, teachers, and residents, I hear mostly about two issues: district budget and school safety. Maintaining a balanced budget is always of concern to tax payers and board members. Oak Creek-Franklin gets less state revenue per student than neighboring districts, and we’re constantly trying to do more with less. I believe in using our tax dollars effectively to retain great teachers who provide quality education at all levels.
School safety is of utmost importance, and I’m proud of the security changes that have been made in each of the schools. We have also had success partnering with the City of Oak Creek, Oak Creek Police, and Milwaukee County to review and improve traffic safety around the schools.
