Men Robbed At Gunpoint Over Drug Deal; Shots Fired: Report

Police learned the identity of the shooting suspect and are continuing to investigate the case.

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police responded to the area of the 4500 block of E. Oakwood Road just before 4 p.m. on June 4 on a report of a robbery.

According to police reports, a man called the police and said that he and his friends were robbed at gunpoint by four black men in a silver Hyundai Elantra. The man said he and his friends drove down to the dead end of E. Oakwood Rd. that morning to smoke marijuana when a silver vehicle pulled up next to them and a group of men got out of the car and robbed them.

According to police reports, the witness told police that one of the men pulled a gun out and pointed it at his friend, and stole his silver iPhone 8 Plus. The suspect also reportedly pistol-whipped another of the victims three times, causing injuries to his head and face.

Reports stated that the two groups became embroiled in a fight, with one of the suspects firing two shots into the ground. All the suspects got back into the car following the fight and reportedly fled west on E. Oakwood Rd. then north onto S. Chicago Rd. They were last seen driving north past E. Puetz Rd.

Reports stated that two shell casings were recovered at the scene. Police were able to track the cell phone to an address in Caledonia. When police investigated, they canvassed the neighborhood in Caledonia and narrowed their search down to a specific neighborhood.

According to reports, officers went up to a house in Caledonia and spoke with a man who admitted to being there during the robbery and getting into a fight. The suspect told police that the altercation was a drug deal that had gone bad. Police learned the identity of the shooting suspect and are continuing to investigate the case, reports said.
