Oak Creek Assault Suspect Misses Court; Sought By Authorities
Police are still searching for a man in connection with charges of sexual assault and strangulation.

OAK CREEK, WI — In December of 2020 an Oak Creek apartment was shaken by violence. Now, the man wanted in connection with charges stemming from the incident is nowhere to be found.
Police said in a criminal complaint Brandon Bowen, who is still wanted by authorities, broke down the door to his girlfriend's apartment in Oak Creek last year and sexually assaulted her following a verbal disagreement.
Bowen appeared in Milwaukee County Court in connection with charges of second-degree sexual assault and strangulation, but he has stopped appearing at his court proceedings since April, online court records show.

Bowen posted the $17,000 bond for the charges, but he has since disappeared and online court records show a bench warrant was issued. A nationwide arrest warrant has been issued for Bowen, a U.S. Marshal told Fox 6 News.
According to the criminal complaint, a day prior to the incident, Bowen's girlfriend confronted him about google searches on his phone for escorts, she told police.

The next day, Bowen showed up at his girlfriend's apartment in Oak Creek. The victim told police she didn't open the door because she knew it was Bowen, but he still made his way into the house through force, the complaint said.
Inside the apartment was the a 32-year-old woman victim and her 11-year-old son. Once Bowen gained entry, a verbal argument ensued and devolved into violence, the complaint said.
The victim told police that Bowen punched, strangled and sexually assaulted her. At one point, the 11-year-old son started yelling at Bowen to stop, but Bowen told him to go back to his room, the complaint said.
The boy attempted to contact police from an iPad. He then ran outside the apartment and started knocking on neighbors' doors until one neighbor helped contact police, police said in the complaint.
In the criminal complaint, police say Bowen said he did not mean to hurt the victim.
Authorities are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Bowen to call the US Marshal tip line: 414-297-3707.
