Viewfinder: Oak Creek Swimmers Compete at State Meet

The Oak Creek High School boys swim team had five athletes compete in Madison over the weekend.

The Oak Creek High School boys swim team was well-represented at the WIAA swimming and diving state tournament in Madison on Saturday, with four swimmers and a diver competing.

Senior Sam Vissers swam in three events for the Knights. After setting school records in both the 100- and 200-yard freestyles a week ago at the WIAA sectional, Vissers swam 22nd in the 200 in 1 minute, 50.99 seconds and 24th in the 100 in 50.76.

He also teamed with seniors Jacob Wergin and Evan Koch and junior Zack Kaestner to take 19thin the 200 free relay in 1:32.23.

Senior Tony Rodriguez failed to make it out of preliminaries and was 21st in diving with 137.95 points.
