OAK CREEK, WI -- Authorities in Oak Creek say a case at a local day care was originally presented to them as an armed robbery case, however when they investigated, it turned out to be a stolen vehicle case.
According to Oak Creek police, the department received a call from Milwaukee Police stating that the Kids 'n Care Day Care Center at at 6901 S. 20th Street was held up by men who implied - but did not display weapons - just before 4 p.m. on Jan. 8.

Oak Creek police officials told Patch that when officers responded, they learned that the original call had been overstated by officials in Milwaukee and that, in fact, no armed robbery took place.
Oak Creek police did report, however, that two men in their 20s were at the day care, and fled in a silver 2016 Chrysler 200 which they reportedly stole from the parking lot.

According to reports, the owner of the Chrysler 200 told police left his car running in the day care parking lot at the time of the incident, and that the two suspects jumped into the car and drove off, nearly striking the owner and his child as they fled.
According to reports, West Allis police contacted Oak Creek police, saying they recovered the stolen Chrysler 200 after two suspects got out of the car and jumped into a white van that was last seen near 84th St and Becher that afternoon.
The suspects remain at large, according to authorities.
