Oak Creek-Franklin Names New Superintendent
School Board officials named Dan Unertl as the person who will succeed Superintendent Tim Culver later this year.

OAK CREEK, WI -- Dan Unertl will become the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District's new superintendent after school board officials approved promoting him to the position.
Unertl, who will succeed Superintendent Tim Culver, stated, "In my years with the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District, I've worked for and with great people--dedicated educators and leaders--wonderful students and families--I'm proud of the work we've done, excited for what the future holds, and committed to work my hardest in the service of our community," he said in a news release.
Culver will retire before the start of the 2019-20 school year. His last day with the district will be Aug. 31, 2019. Culver served four years with the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District, his final stop in a career spanning more than 40 years.

"Looking back on my career, I am a bit sad I did not discover this amazing School District and community earlier, but I am very happy about the work we are doing and the progress we have made. Dan is an amazing leader who understands this district's 'together' culture and the journey we are on to improve, " Culver said in a prepared statement.
Unertl has been employed with the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District for the last seven years, most recently serving as Assistant Superintendent. Prior to joining the District Leadership Team, Unertl served as an administrator at Oak Creek High School, and as an English/Language Arts teacher in southeastern Wisconsin.
