Oak Creek Homicide Investigation, 2 Arrested In Kentucky: Police
A Fox Point man was found dead in Oak Creek on Sunday. Two suspects were arrested Tuesday in Kentucky in connection with the investigation.

OAK CREEK — The death of a 64-year-old Fox Point man in Oak Creek on Sunday is now the subject of a homicide investigation, the Oak Creek Police Department announced Wednesday.
The Fox Point man — now identified as Robert Peret by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner, Journal Sentinel reported —was found dead in a room registered under his name around 4 p.m. Sunday on 6300 S. 13th Street in Oak Creek, police said. Two people of interest in the initial death investigation were arrested in Kentucky Tuesday, according to the Oak Creek Police Department's news release.
Kentucky State Police identified the suspects they arrested in Hopkins County, Kentucky Tuesday as Derek W. Hebel, 30, from Milwaukee and Heather R. Rouse, 28, from Spring Hill, Florida. Both were arrested in connection with charges of fugitive from another state, Kentucky police said in a news release.

Oak Creek Police said the two suspects met with the Fox Point man leading up to his death on Sunday, and that after his death they stole the man's car.
Later that night, Oak Creek police learned the stolen car was the subject of two unsuccessful police chases: one in Indiana and another in Kentucky, the news release said.

The death investigation turned into a homicide investigation on Monday with new information and work alongside the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner, according to the Oak Creek Police news release.
Police did not say what the cause of the 64-year-old man's death was aside from the fact it is being investigated as a possible homicide.
Two people were arrested Tuesday in Kentucky after they stole a car from a gas station in Hopkins County and were chased by police, Kentucky State Police said in a news release.
The two suspects crashed the car and ran on foot. They were arrested in connection with the Wisconsin homicide investigation and other charges, police said.
The incident posed no harm to the public and that it was an isolated death involving people known by the man who died, according to the Oak Creek Police news release.
According to Kentucky State Police, Hebel was charged in Kentucky in connection with: fleeing or evading police 1st degree, fleeing or evading police 2nd degree, theft by unlawful taking (auto), possession of drug paraphernalia, operating motor vehicle under influence of alcohol or drugs, criminal mischief 2nd degree, speeding, reckless driving and fugitive from another state.
According to Kentucky State Police, Rouse was charged in Kentucky in connection with: fleeing or evading 2nd degree, theft by unlawful taking (auto), possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication and fugitive from another state.
