Oak Creek Likely Getting New Bakery

Oak Creek — Oak Creek could see one more bakery enter the community after city officials signed off on a plan for Aldi to incorporate a full-service bakery into their Oak Creek store.

The Oak Creek Aldi, 6810 S. 27th St., is part of a pilot program with the grocery retailer looking to build a full service bakery onto the south side of the building. Aldi Oak Creek Division Vice President Atty McGrath said Aldi is working with the city to secure appropriate approvals and they hope to have the new bakery open by the first quarter of 2017.

Most recently, the plans were passed unanimously at a June 28 plan commission meeting.
