OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek Middle School students last week found a new approach to honor the 17 lives that were lost in the Parkland, Florida school shooting.

According to an Oak Creek East Middle School parent, Anastasia Sagan was joined by Abby, Natalie and Molly Reindl, Charlotte Vielleux, Ella Huelsbech, Jessica Behr, Megan Deptula, Traci Trick, Claire Warenda, Zoe Franco, Emily Suba, Sarah Waldrep and Aubry Cookson in a chalk mural project outside the school related to the school shooting last month.

Each student created a heart, written text or design of their choosing in creating a dedication to the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School victims.
