OAK CREEK, WI -- Police in Oak Creek say they've fielded a number of calls from residents over damaged mailboxes.

According to police reports, officers were flagged down by a home resident in the 8600 block of S. Riverton Road just before 3 a.m. on March 30 on a report of a criminal damage to property case.

Reports stated the home owner told police that earlier that evening, he heard a loud noise outside his home, and then saw that two mailboxes had been struck. The resident also told police that he saw a dark-colored sedan fleeing the area.

When the resident went outside to see what happened, he told police that he saw that several other mailboxes in the area had been damaged, according to reports.
