Oak Creek Man Faces Battery Charge In Kenosha: Pleaded Not Guilty

An Oak Creek man is facing charges of substantial battery in Kenosha County Court, according to online court records.

KENOSHA, WI — An Oak Creek man pleaded not guilty to a felony substantial battery-intend bodily harm charge in Kenosha County Court on Tuesday, according to online Wisconsin court records.

A criminal complaint was filed against James W. Maile, 48, of 400 West Swan Cercle in December 2021, online court records show. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for March 3 and jury selection for a trial was set for March 21.

In the criminal complaint filed against Maile, which was obtained by Kenosha News, a woman told police that Maile shoved another man to the ground in a fight, but she didn't see who struck first. Police learned the victim broke two ribs when he was thrown to the ground, the report says citing the complaint.
