Oak Creek Meijer Was Put On Lockdown: Report
Police say the Oak Creek Meijer was put on lockdown after a store employee reported a retail theft suspect and a possible weapon.

OAK CREEK, WI -- The Oak Creek Meijer was put on temporary lock down after authorities say they learned that a man accused in an apparent retail theft.
Oak Creek police responded to the Meijer at 171 W. Town Square Way just before 1 a.m. on Sep. 23 on a report of the retail theft. A 911 caller said the person had a gun, and that the gun was on the ground.
According to reports, a man entered the Meijer, ate a package of sushi, then placed the empty package back in the display. An employee said that she saw a handgun laying in the parking lot next to a vehicle, and that the retail theft suspect was nearby.

Reports stated that the man was located by officers and taken into custody. When police investigated, they reported that the magazine for the gun was found about 50 feet from the gun and a pocket knife was found about 25 feet away from the gun - all in the parking lot where a store employee claimed to have seen the retail theft suspect.
According to police, surveillance footage showed the man walking around the parking lot and bending over several times, however he was not seen on-camera with the gun in his hands. It was not known at the time of this report whether the weapons were linked to the retail theft suspect by authorities.
