Oak Creek Neighbor Catches Car Burglary Suspect In The Act
The vehicle owner told police the suspect walked off with $500 that was contained in a wallet in the vehicle.

OAK CREEK, WI -- Vehicle break-ins and suspects entering unlocked cars have been a persistent problem in Oak Creek now that the weather has warmed up.
One neighbor, who has taken crime prevention and vigilance to new heights, says he caught one such break-in artist in the act by virtue of his surveillance camera that was trained on the street.
According to Oak Creek police logs, officers responded to the 8400 block of S. Verdev Drive just after 7 p.m. on May 7 on a report of a vehicle break-in.

Police said they viewed surveillance footage provided by the neighbor, which showed the driver of a blue Chevy Avalanche drive by the area twice just after 6 p.m., only to stop by the victim's house.
Police noted that the vehicle had no front license plate and had possible front bumper damage. A person got out of the vehicle and went into the victim's car for approximately one minute.

The vehicle owner talked to police, and said that the only thing that was stolen was about $500 in cash that was taken from his wallet in the center console.
The wife of the vehicle owner called police, saying that the suspect just went though her husband's car and stole the contents of his wallet.
