Oak Creek Police Arrest OWI Man At Gunpoint: Report
According to police, the man woke up when police arrived but fled - only to crash and get hung up on a broken signpost.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek arrested a man at gunpoint after a police chase just before midnight on March 8.
According to police reports, the incident started after an employee at the Pilot Travel Center called the police, stating that a man fell asleep in his car at one of the gas pumps.
Reports indicated that an Oak Creek police officer responded to the gas station, and woke up the man in his car. He identified himself verbally to the officer and showed some sign that he was impaired on narcotics according to police reports.

Police reported that they ran the car's VIN number, which indicated the car had been reported stolen out of Milwaukee. When the officer left his squad to share this information with the driver, he drove off.
According to police, he led officers on a 1-mile high-speed chase before crashing his vehicle in the turn median leading to the southbound lanes of I-94 -only to get hung up on a signpost.

According to police, the driver was arrested at gunpoint. A search of the vehicle turned up various drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on suspicion of OWI-second offense, operating after revocation and fleeing and eluding an officer.
