As police monitored the situation, they observed a verbal altercation with the boys in the car and the adult male in which one of the boys in the car stuck his body out from the back seat window and "screamed very loudly and very close" to the man's face, swearing at him, using a racial epitaph and challenging others like him to fight him.
At this point, the officer exited his squad and informed the agitated boy in the car that he was under arrest for disorderly conduct.
According to reports, the boy became immediately resistive with the officer when he tried to place him in hand cuffs. The boy reportedly continued to scream for his friends as the officer had to restrain him from further resistance.
The report stated that another teenager was cited for disorderly conduct as they screamed profanities at officers as they were attempting to control the scene.
