Oak Creek Police Investigating Homemade Explosive Device: Report

OAK CREEK, WI — Authorities in Oak Creek are investigating a potential bomb threat after a resident reportedly witnessed an explosion and found debris.
According to Oak Creek police call logs, officers responded to a home on the 9000 block of S. Annette Place at just before midnight on Aug. 11 on a report of a bomb threat.
Police said a woman called authorities, reporting that she heard a "weird explosive type of noise" and saw a bright flash in front of her home. She told authorities that she walked up to the area and saw a homemade device with duct tape nearby and a black mark on the ground - and that this was the second time this has happened in recent memory.

According to police call logs, Oak Creek police found the exploded device in front of the house, and it was later destroyed by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's bomb disposal personnel.
