Oak Creek Police Investigating Motel 6 Burglary: Report

OAK CREEK, WI -- Police in Oak Creek are reporting that a suspect cooked up a scheme to steal cash from a motel's desk worker. Police say they're investigating, and have already located the suspect's getaway vehicle.

Police in Oak Creek responded to the Motel 6 just after 8 a.m. on April 29 on a report of a theft.

According to reports, a hotel employee told police that a man came up to the front counter earlier that evening and was harassing a female employee.

Reports stated that in the process of talking with the female employee, he requested his $50 room deposit. When the employee walked into the hotel office for a brief time, she reported coming out and seeing that the man left the lobby and that the cash drawer was open.

Reports indicated that all the cash deposit envelopes were also gone, and that an unknown amount of cash had been taken from the register.

Police say they are investigating the incident and reviewed surveillance footage to locate the vehicle that the suspect fled in.
