In a small American town in the early 1960s, Scotty Smalls is the new boy in the neighborhood, seeking desperately to fit in. Smalls feels like an outsider because he can’t play baseball. “Benny the Jet” Rodriguez, the team’s leader and young baseball prodigy convince his team to let Smalls join. Together, they get themselves into a series of funny and touching adventures involving rival teams, lifeguards, and a vicious dog.
