Oak Creek 'Restaurant Passport' for Prizes Proposed

A proposal to boost support for Oak Creek's abundance of new restaurants will go before city officials Wednesday night.

OAK CREEK -- A proposal to boost support for Oak Creek's abundance of new restaurants will go before city officials Wednesday night.

That's when members of the Oak Creek Community Development Authority will get their first look at a proposal for an "Oak Creek Restaurant Passport."

The intention behind the proposal is to encourage visits to participating local restaurants in the City. According to official documents, the passport would increase exposure for existing Oak Creek restaurants at a time when a great deal of attention is being paid to newer developments.

Under the proposal, customers would get stamps to their passport by visiting participating non-franchised or locally-owned Oak Creek restaurants. After a person visits six restaurants and their passport is stamped 6 times, the customer would turn in the completed passport to be entered into a drawing for prizes.

No purchase would be necessary to obtain a passport, and prizes are proposed as a dining certificate of an appropriate value exceeding $25 in value.
