Oak Creek Robotics Team Competes Nationally, Welcomes New Members
Team 1792 Round Table Robotics recently competed against 54 other Wisconsin area teams.

OAK CREEK, WI - From Round Table Robotics: Team 1792 Round Table Robotics recently competed at Wisconsin Regional Event held at The UWM Panther Arena. At this event there were more than 55 teams from Wisconsin, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Arkansas among others.
At this event Round Table Robotics finished sixth after Qualification matches. During the elimination rounds, Round Table Robotics captained the fifth-seed alliance, beating out the fourth-seed alliance. The team made it to the semifinal rounds, where they captained their alliance to play very close matches against the 1st seed alliance. However, during the award ceremony Round Table Robotics finished second for the Safety Award sponsored by Underwriter Laboratories. Round Table Robotics also received the Regional Engineering Inspiration Award for their work in getting grants for other FRC Teams across the country. These grants were fund by one of the team’s sponsor PPG. In addition, over the year Round Table Robotics mentored 8 FLL Teams in Oak Creek, in addition to the team founded FLL Team 33415 at Kenosha’s Boy’s & Girl’s club.
FRC Team 1792 Round Table Robotics part of Oak Creek High School Stem Club is a yearlong club. The summer months are spent doing outreach such as volunteering at soup kitchens, Hunger Task Force and Marching in the Oak Creek 4th of July Parade with their Candy Robot.

September through December starts tool safety, machine training and new projects such as Material of Month and wooden lamps. This helps kick start the students into the engineering mindset.
FRC Team 1792 Round Table Robotics part of Oak Creek High School Stem Club is open to any Oak Creek High School students interested in Science Technology Engineering and Math can become a member of the STEM Club. The OCHS Stem Club is built on the FIRST values: gracious professionalism and cooperation.

In December; with the support of the Oak Creek Franklin School District, East Middle School, Mrs. Wanninger and 165 volunteers including the team students, families and mentors hosted the Oak Creek FLL Tournament, 36 FLL teams competed.
Judges at the Wisconsin Regional recognized the Round Table Robotics work and dedication to STEM. The judges awarded the team the Regional Engineering Inspiration Award. This award gives a ticket to the 2018 FIRST Championship which will take place in Detroit MI on April 25-28, 2018. The entry to this event will be funded by NASA via the award.
