Oak Creek To Allocate Federal Block Grants
Salvation Army, Interfaith would benefit under proposal.

The local Salvation Army and Interfaith programs would benefit from Oak Creek's allocation of community development block grants under a proposal the Common Council will discuss tonight.
The city projects to get about $57,000 through the federal program. , 8853 S. Howell Ave., and Oak Creek-South Milwaukee Interfaith were the only groups to request funding, according to a report to council members.
Salvation Army would get $48,407 for a gymnasium seating and storage project. It would also receive $4,721 for its temporary housing program and food pantry.

Interfaith, which serves residents age 60 and older, would receive $4,721 for transportation and general assistance.
Community development block grants are allocated to counties by the federal government. Counties then distribute money to municipalities.
