Oak Creek Woman Scammed Out Of Macbook With Fake Money: Report

As the buyers were driving off, the seller realized that the money was fake, reading the words "For Motion Picture Purposes Only."

OAK CREEK, WI -- Police in Oak Creek say they are investigating a fraud case in which the buyers of a computer through Facebook Marketplace got away with buying the computer with fake money.

According to Oak Creek police reports, a woman selling a Macbook Pro agreed to sell it to a buyer through Facebook Marketplace, agreeing to make the transaction at the Oak Creek Taco Bell on April 25.

Reports state that the man and woman who agreed to buy the Macbook Pro provided the seller with eight one hundred dollar bills.

As the buyers were driving off, the seller realized that the money was fake, reading the words "For Motion Picture Purposes Only" across the top of each note.

Police are following up on this incident to track down video surveillance footage from the Taco Bell, reports state.
