Oak Creek's Black Bear To Close, 76 Jobs Lost

Oak Creek-Based Black Bear Bottling Group has filed for receivership, and will eliminate 76 jobs.

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek-Based Black Bear Bottling Group has filed for receivership, and will eliminate 76 jobs on Sep. 15, 2017 - also the date the longtime company plans to permanently cease operations.

According to a Milwaukee Biz Times Report, Black Bear Bottling listed $10.6 million in liabilities in its receivership filings last week, including $5.2 million in debt with First Bank of Highland Park.

Black Bear Bottling Co. was started in the early 1920s in present-day St. Francis initially as a spring water bottling company, but evolved into a soft drink bottling company.
