Officers Chase Down Oak Creek Car Theft Suspects: Police
Oak Creek police say they chased down suspects who used a stolen SUV to try breaking into cars.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek and South Milwaukee teamed up to catch three youth, saying that the suspects used a stolen SUV to try to break into cars in Oak Creek.
Oak Creek police responded to the 8700 block of S. Oak Park Drive just after 8 a.m. on Nov. 26 on a report of a stolen vehicle.
According to police reports, an eyewitness called the police, stating that two men in a green sport utility vehicle were exiting the vehicle and pulling on door handles of cars in the area, and suspected they were trying to break-and-enter parked cars.

Reports indicate that Oak Creek police located the suspects' vehicle in the area of Puetz Rd. and Shepard Ave. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled, initiating a police pursuit.
According to reports, the vehicle police were pursuing was reported as stolen out of West Allis, and belonged to someone who had an open warrant for their arrest.

Police stated that as police were pursuing the vehicle, the SUV went off the road, struck a culvert, struck a vehicle, then a mailbox, and then came to rest in a person's yard. The two suspects tried to run but were arrested by Oak Creek police. A third suspect was arrested by South Milwaukee police who were waiting for him when he entered one end of a wooded area and came out the other.
The three suspects were transported to the Milwaukee County Children's juvenile center following their arrest. Their names were not released at the time of publication.
