Officers Use Narcan To Revive Apparent Drug User: Report

According to reports, officers administered Narcan, a powerful drug reversal agent, and restored some breathing.

OAK CREEK, WI — Authorities in Oak Creek say they revived an apparent heroin user after the person - a 40-year-old Cudahy woman reportedly lost her pulse.

According to Oak Creek police reports, a woman called 911 during the early morning hours of July 17 on a report that her friend was not breathing while at Villa Vista, 8060 S. 27th Street in Oak Creek.

Police and Oak Creek Fire Department first responders were dispatched. The first officer on-scene reported she did have a pulse but was not breathing. The woman's friend said her friend had just used heroin and believed she was overdosing.

According to reports, officers administered Narcan, a powerful drug reversal agent, and restored some breathing. Oak Creek Fire Department responders administered another dose of Narcan, which brought the woman's breathing back to normal.

Police said the woman was transported to Wheaton Franklin for treatment, however, she refused to answer any questions in relation to the incident.

While on the scene, police reportedly found two crack pipes, a corner-cut baggie and a snorting straw with residue. the woman was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
