Police Arrests I-94 Wrong-Way Drunk Driver: Report

OAK CREEK, WI -- Authorities in Oak Creek say they took a drunk driver into custody on the night of July 2, after deputies in Racine County say they spotted him driving the wrong way on I-94.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, a 43-year-old Racine man was heading north on I-94 from the southbound lanes and was heading into Oak Creek just after 9 p.m. on July 2.

According to call logs, the driver failed standard field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test administered by the officer on-scene recorded a 0.17 blood alcohol concentration - greater than the legal limit for drunk driving in Wisconsin.

Police say the driver was cited for drunk driving, taken into custody and later released to a responsible party.
