Police Break Window To Stop Drunk Man's Car At Kwik Trip: Report

A 25-year-old Oak Creek man has been arrested and charged after police say he was found passed out while behind the wheel at Kwik Trip.

OAK CREEK, WI — A 25-year-old Oak Creek man has been arrested and charged after police say an officer had to use their baton to break open a window to stop a car operated by a drunk driver.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County, on the night of Dec. 27, Jordan Guzman was found passed out in his running Dodge Dart at the local Kwik Trip on S. 10th St.

Police reported that an officer found Guzman unconscious in the driver's seat in the running vehicle. After tapping on the window, Guzman eventually woke up, only to place his hand on the gear shift lever, putting the car into drive and slamming into a utility pole.

According to the criminal complaint, the responding officer used his baton to break out a window so he could unlock the vehicle and turn it off.

Police reported that Guzman admitted to consuming a 4 Loko beverage, and officers found a gold metal grinder used for smoking marijuana.

According to the criminal complaint, officers also found a loaded Canik 9 mm handgun in the glove box. Guzman submitted to a preliminary breath test, which registered a .10 blood alcohol concentration - greater than Wisconsin's drunk driving threshold.

Documents indicate that Guzman was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration - second offense and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated - second offense.

He has been ordered into court on March 26 at 1 p.m.
