Police Catch Applebee's Armed Robber, Getaway Driver: Report

Police say they caught the armed robber and getaway driver in an SUV near the Rawson Ave. onramp to I-94.

OAK CREEK, WI -- Police in Oak Creek say they have arrested two men accused of robbing the Oak Creek Applebee's at gunpoint on Dec. 27.

According to Oak Creek police reports, a suspect who has yet to be publicly identified walked into the Oak Creek Applebee's at 7135 S. 13th Street just after 7 p.m. Reports stated he displayed a silver handgun, and fled with approximately $900 from the restaurant.

Reports stated that witnesses told police that a silver SUV fled the restaurant. They went east on Rawson Ave. before eventually fleeing west toward I-94.

Reports indicated that Oak Creek police were able to stop the vehicle as the driver entered the Rawson Ave. ramp onto I-94.

Police say they found the gun used in the robbery and additional evidence from Applebee's in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop and arrests.

Charges are pending, according to Milwaukee County Circuit Court records.
