Police Chase Down Oak Creek Man Who Shot At Woman: Report

Police say that Eric R. Gaffney fired one shot into the ground with a pistol and several shots toward a woman with a BB gun.

OAK CREEK, WI — A wanted 20-year-old Oak Creek man faces multiple charges after police say he attempted to flee officers following an incident where he fired multiple gunshots at a woman - who recorded the incident on camera.

According to Oak Creek police reports, a woman called the police, saying that Eric R. Gaffney fired one shot into the ground with a pistol and several shots toward her with a BB gun.

According to Oak Creek police reports, a temporary felony arrest warrant was issued for Gaffney, who fled the scene in a red Pontiac.

A short time later, reports indicated that an officer on patrol saw Gaffney pull into his driveway on the 1900 block of W. Oakwood Road just before 5:30 p.m. on April 7. The officer reported that Gaffney saw police and drove through his yard, fleeing into the St. John's subdivision.

Police reported that Gaffney was arrested in the 2500 block of W. St. John's way a short time later. He now faces possible charges of recklessly endangering the safety and disorderly conduct while armed from the previous incident.

Reports indicated that officers deployed a drug-sniffing dog to conduct an exterior search of Gaffney's vehicle. Reports stated that the K9 officer led police to a drawstring bag on the rear driver's side seat that included a glass ball jar and a small amount of marijuana.

According to reports, Gaffney's vehicle was towed by police and he was arrested. He is currently in the Milwaukee County Jail on a $10,250 bond recommendation.
