Police Investigating Oak Creek High School Gun Rumor: Report

Police deployed extra officers throughout the school Friday during their investigation.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek are trying to track down the source of rumors that involved a potential gun threat at Oak Creek High School on Friday afternoon.

On Friday, April 13, just before 2 p.m., Oak Creek police learned of a possible threat involving a firearm at Oak Creek High School.

According to police, officers arrived and worked with staff to investigate the threat. Police deployed extra officers throughout the school as their investigation continued.

According to police, the rumors that they investigated among the student body were determined to be false, and determined that at no time was there an actual threat to the safety of Oak Creek students.

Police said that there was never a gun seen or found by anyone. Police are encouraging anyone who has information to call Detective Brett Mendola at (414) 766-7629.
