Police to the Rescue: $5,000 Wedding Ring Tracked Down
When a woman lost a $5,000 wedding ring in a grocery store parking lot, police found the man who picked it up and tracked him down.

OAK CREEK, WI — When a woman lost a $5,000 wedding ring in a grocery store parking lot in Oak Creek late last week, police found the man who took it, and got it back for her that day.
Oak Creek police responded to the Woodman's just after 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 on a report that a woman lost a wedding ring and could not find it.
According to reports, the woman was at Woodman's around 1:30 p.m. She got out of her car, and the ring - which was on her lap at the time - reportedly fell onto the parking lot.

The ring was described as gold in color, and had approximately 17 diamonds. It was valued at between $4,500-$5,000.
Reports indicated that the store's loss prevention officer was able to review security footage and found that a suspect found the ring, picked it up, pocketed it and drove off.

According to Oak Creek police, the officer was able to identify the man's vehicle and a licence plate number. Reports stated that the officer went to the man's address, rung the bell and retrieved the wedding ring from the person who picked it up.
Police reports indicated that the man who picked up the ring and drove off was not cited, nor is he facing any charges for picking up the ring.
