Postal Workers Readying for Food Drive Saturday

'Stamp Out Hunger' food drive has collected more than 1 billion pounds of food since 1993.

Don't forget to leave some nonperishable food items out Saturday for the National Association of Letter Carriers' annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive.

More than 1,500 NALC branches, including Oak Creek, will have more than 230,000 letter carriers collect food from people’s mailboxes. Residents can leave non-perishable food in bags next to mailboxes if donations exceed the mailbox size.

Since 1993, the NALC has collected more than 1 billion pounds of food through the nationwide event. It is America’s largest single-day food drive.
