Pursuit Suspect Eluded Police In Oak Creek Trailer Park: Report

Oak Creek police said they deployed a police dog to track the suspect through the trailer park.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek say they're working on tracking down the driver of a vehicle who eluded they and Greenfield police after a chase led them through the city and into the Hy-View Trailer Park.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, Greenfield police were chasing a vehicle east into Oak Creek when Oak Creek police picked up the pursuit at just after 1 a.m. on Jan. 20 near S. 27th Street and W. College Ave.

Police said the driver lost control near the intersection and slid sideways over the median into oncoming traffic. The driver careened into the Kwik Trip parking lot and drove south toward Tri City National Bank and then into the Hy-View Trailer Park.

Police say the vehicle crashed into a light pole near a trailer in the 2400 block of W. Highview Ave. A man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans ran from the accident. Police found a woman underneath a trailer who had been a passenger in the fleeing car.

Oak Creek police said they deployed a police dog to track the suspect through the trailer park, only to have the track go onto the College Court Apartments. That's where the track was lost, police said.

According to police call logs, the suspect managed to elude his pursuing officers. Police said they found a gun at the scene of the crash with a white rubber glove over it.
