OAK CREEK, WI -- Police in Oak Creek say a man has been accused of driving under the influence of drugs following a head-on collision on S. Pennsylvania Ave.

According to Oak Creek police reports, a three-car accident was reported on the 7800 block of S. Pennsylvania Ave. on Feb. 22 just after 3 p.m.

Police reported that the driver of a vehicle was headed north on the 7900 block of S. Pennsylvania Ave. and was tailgating behind a second vehicle.

According to reports, the driver attempted to pass the car ahead of him in a no-passing zone and struck an oncoming vehicle, causing the oncoming vehicle to careen into a ditch.

According to police reports, the 31-year-old Racine man was behind the wheel of the vehicle that was tailgating.

Police said the Racine man showed signs of impairment due to drug use. Police reported calling a drug recognition expert to the scene to perform an evaluation of the driver.

Police said he was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired, and was also cited for not having auto insurance, and reckless driving.
