Ragnar Race To Go Through Oak Creek, Traffic Will Be Affected
Officials are asking everyone to be mindful as runners compete on Oak Creek roads throughout the area on Friday.

OAK CREEK, WI — Officials in Oak Creek are asking drivers to be careful of pedestrians, runner and cyclists as a national race travels through the city on Friday.
This Friday, May 17, the Ragnar Race will be coming through the city. The Ragnar is a 36-stage relay race beginning in Waukegan and ending in Madison.
Runners will be coming through Oak Creek between approximately 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. and will be running the following course:

• Entering Oak Creek from Caledonia on Nicholson Road
• Exchange at Parkway Apostolic Church
• North on Nicholson Road to Elm Road
• East on Elm Road to the Oak Leaf Trail
• North on the Oak Leaf Trail to Ryan Road
• East on Ryan Road to Chicago Road
• South on Chicago Road to 5th Avenue
• Northeast on 5th Avenue to Lake Vista Blvd
• Exchange at Lake Vista Park
• West on trail through Lake Vista Park to 5th Avenue
• North on 5th Avenue into South Milwaukee
Although this lengthy relay has passed through Oak Creek in the past, it has normally been during the overnight hours. The runners will be wearing brightly-colored clothing for visibility, but officials are asking everyone to be mindful as they travel throughout the area on Friday.
