Resident Ends 38-Year Tenure on Water and Sewer Utility Commission

Burnside began tenure on Oct. 11, 1972.

Raymond Burnside has stepped down from the Oak Creek Water and Sewer Utility Commission after a tenure lasting more than 38 years.

Burnside started his service on Oct. 11, 1972. During that time, Burnside and the commission helped improve infrastructure and compliance; participated in the Partnership for Safe Water Program, which has improved water quality for more than 85 million people in the United States; and earned 16 consecutive awards for financial reporting.

The mayor and Common Council approved a proclamation of appreciation to Burnside last week.
